Heritage Information and Resource Centre GTWHI provides information about the Site and places of interest to the public. There is an existing model of George Town can be use as tool for tourists, residents and stakeholders to indicate location, heritage buildings, streetscapes and to provide visual information about the existing world heritage site of George Town. We are also setting a comprehensive resource centre for anyone who is keen to learn more about heritage and working on an inventory of heritage assets that can be shared among government agencies, stake holders and general public .
Heritage Education and Talks, Forums, Workshops, Heritage Clinic The objective of Education and Outreach Programme is to educate and create awareness among the youth, adults and relevant parties on conservation and preservation of the World Heritage Site. The programme is designed to raise awareness about OUV’s that include talks, site visits and living heritage experiences.
Stake holders Engagement and Community Outreach Programme GTWHI constantly engaging and reaching out to the public, stake holders, government agencies, NGO and relevant parties for better planning, conserving, developing, and monitoring George Town heritage zone.
Presentation & Promotion of World Heritage Site We always want to reach out to the public about heritage issues and the challenges that George Town World Heritage site are facing through creative and innovative ideas. By rebranding and rejuvenate our promotional and public awareness materials, we hope that the importance of of conservation our heritage can reach out to from the grass-roots to international audience. We organize heritage festivals and work together with tourism bodies to further promote George Town World Heritage Site as gateway to the Historic Cities Of the straits Of Malacca.
