Since our inception in 2010, GTWHI has initiated some significant projects. These projects aim to preserve and promote Georege Town World Heritage Site as a vibrant heritage city.

Heritage Inventory
A comprehensive inventory of heritage assets that can be shared among government agencies, stake holders and general public for better planning, developin , monitoring and  conserving George Town heritage zone.

Kelly maps of 1891-1893
The catalogue will be prepared on easily accessible search based software, excel or others, and accessible to the public on a read only search based version.

Greening On Lebuh Carnavon
George Town World Heritage Inc. (GTWHI), in partnership with Majlis Perbandaran Pulau Pinang (MPPP), Think City Sdn Bhd (TCSB) and SERI implemented a pilot greening project on Lebuh Carnavon, as part of the Cleaner Greener Penang initiative by the State Government.

Marking George Town
A design idea competition to physically brand the historic city of George Town as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

George Town World Heritage Site Special Area Plan
This Draft Special Area Plan (SAP) is a joint effort project with The Penang State Government, MPPP and Jabatan Bandar dan Desa Pulau Pinang with NGO and local communities. This draft SAP was exhibited for public comments. Outcome from the public feedbacks will be reviewed, adpoted and gazetted in the future.
